New operators appear on the Community page within minutes
A new operator's first node went live immediately, but the Community page could take up to an hour to list it, and until then said they had no nodes. It now catches up within a few minutes, and says your node is syncing while it waits.
When your first node comes online, it starts serving straight away, and the dashboard and Nodes page show it within seconds. The Community page didn’t. It is refreshed by a job that ran once an hour, so a new operator could wait up to an hour to appear there.
While they waited, the page got it wrong. It said you had no active nodes. It showed a leaderboard of operators from every metro without saying so. And its “view full leaderboard” link opened the list of metros instead.
Now:
- Your first node triggers a refresh, so you appear on the Community page within a few minutes. The refresh waits long enough for your node’s location to be looked up, so you land on your metro’s leaderboard. If that lookup is slow, your metro fills in at the next hourly refresh.
- The page tells you what’s happening. Until you appear, it says your node is live and syncing. If your nodes haven’t reported in for 7 days, it says that, rather than telling you to set up a node. “No nodes yet” is now shown only if you have never run one.
- The leaderboard is labelled. When there is no board for your metro, the page shows “Top operators — all metros”. The link beneath it now reads “Browse leaderboards by metro”, which is where it goes.
The Community page still refreshes hourly for everything else: rank changes, badges and scores.
