Metro leaderboards show a podium, each node's score breakdown, and work on phones

ChangedPortal

The metro leaderboards now put the top three nodes on a podium, let you expand any node to see how its Performance Index is made up, and turn into cards on a phone. Two score components that were labelled wrongly now carry the right names.

Every metro has a public leaderboard of its top nodes, ranked by Performance Index. It has been reworked.

A podium for the top three. Ranks 1 to 3 appear as cards above the table. The podium always shows the Performance Index ranking. When you sort or filter the table by something else, it steps aside until you go back to the ranking.

See how any node’s score is made up. Expand a row to see that node’s score for each of the five Performance Index components, next to its overall score. The Community page and your operator profile show the same breakdown, so it reads the same everywhere.

Two components had the wrong names. Before:

  • “Uptime Score” was really Network Contribution: how much traffic a node serves compared with the busiest similar node in the same metro.
  • “Hardware Score” was really Bandwidth Capacity: the throughput a node achieves against the connection speed its operator declared.

If you were working to improve your “uptime” score, you were working on network contribution. The components are now named Content Delivery, Bandwidth Capacity, Network Contribution, Processing Power and Uptime Consistency, and “uptime” appears only on the component that measures it. Nothing about how scores are calculated has changed.

Works on a phone. On narrow screens each node becomes a card, and the details the table hides on a small screen appear in the card instead. Sorting, filtering and expanding a node all work the same way.

Private stays private. For operators who keep their profile private, the leaderboard still hides their handle, node name, ISP and hardware. It shows only their node’s performance figures.

The board also said rankings refresh daily. They refresh every hour, and it now says so.
